Family-owned and operated business, Brancier Jeweller-Gemologist was founded in Toronto in 1930 by Paul Brancier who specialized as a master watch maker. The business diversified into the production of fine jewellery in 1966, when Ross and Helen Brancier, along with Paul and his wife Marion, moved to Milton.
Their store at 220 Main Street East in Milton was known as Ross Brancier Jewellery.
The store expanded to the Milton Mall in 1982 where they stayed for over 30 years. They have since moved into the newly developed area of Milton at Louis St. Laurent and Bronte St. S - in the Sobeys complex. Their philosophy to success was simple - work hard and treat people exactly how you would like to be treated. Thus, they transformed an ordinary every day type of approach to doing business into a friendship, which would provide the model for personal attention and professional expertise that has become our hallmark.
Today, Brancier Jeweller-Gemologist is operated by a member of the third generation, Mark Brancier, a Graduate Gemologist, and his wife, designer and goldsmith, Nadira.
Mark studied at the Gemological Institute of America (GIA) where he graduated as a Graduate Gemologist. There he met Nadira who also had graduated from the Gemological Institute of America. She is an accomplished designer and goldsmith, who had the honour of designing and creating a piece of jewellery that was presented to Queen Elizabeth II of England in 1994 on the occasion of her State visit to Guyana. A selection of her one of a kind handmade creations are carried in the store.
The business is recognized as a leading jewellery retailer respected for its high standards in ethics, creative design and craftsmanship. A full professional jewellery repair service is offered, as well as jewellery appraisals for insurance purposes all done on our premises.
The future of Brancier Jeweller-Gemologist has entered its 4th generation. Their son, Alex has completed 2 years of jewellery design, silversmithing and goldsmithing at Georgian College. He designs and creates jewellery today using the 3D Matrix CAD/CAM program featuring the latest technology in computer software. Alex apprenticed in Toronto with a master diamond setter learning the fine art of microscopic gem setting. Alex has also graduated from the Gemological Institute of America (GIA) as a Graduate Gemologist. From start to finish Alex, will design your jewellery on the computer, finish off the piece by hand, set your gemstones and present you with your beautiful one-of-a-kind piece of jewellery.
Their daughter, Natasha has recently joined the business after completing her education at the Gemological Institute of America (GIA) and also graduating as a Graduate Gemologist. She brings with her a wealth of experience from working for a well known Italian jewelley designer - Roberto Coin - in California.
